Intensive outpatient program (IOP)

Intensive outpatient program (IOP)

The adolescent Intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a group therapy treatment for ages 11-14. This program occurs three days per week for three hours per day. The program lasts for eight weeks throughout the summer. The adolescent IOP is intended for clients who require a higher level of care due to prolonged depression or anxiety, difficult behaviors, or a history of safety risk factors. The IOP follows a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) model which focuses on learning to regulate emotions, increasing tolerance for distressing situations, creating interpersonal skills, and promoting rational thought patterns. Clients attending this group will participate in activities that will allow them to practice these skills with other adolescents and the leading therapists. Parent involvement is an integral part of the IOP programming to ensure continuing progress with their children outside of the group.
